The Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Devendra Fadnavis presented the National Awards for e-Governance for the Year 2015-16 in Nagpur today. The awards were given for exemplary implementation of e-Governance initiatives. The awards were given away at the end of the 19th National e-Governance Conference which concluded in Nagpur today.
Odisha government was awarded a national e-governance award for its successful e-initiatives in agriculture namely, Procurement Automation System (P-PAS) and farmer registration programme during the two-day 19th National e-Governance conference inaugurated in Nagpur yesterday.
The P-PAS automation system, an initiative of the Department of International Development (DFID) supported by Odisha Modernising Economy Governance Administration (OMEGA), has overcome many procedural problems starting from procurement to delivery of paddy to the millers.
Under the e-procurement system around Rs 6,500 crore worth paddy has been bought by the state government.
