Our ADB supported Infrastructure Development Investment Program for Tourism (IDIPT) development in Himachal Pradesh has won the Better Performing Project Award 2015 for development of infrastructure in the state.
The award was conferred during the Tripartite Portfolio Review meeting and it was received by Commissioner of Tourism Mohan Chauhan and Project Director Manoj Sharma. The spokesman said the award was based on the overall performance in contract award, disbursement, and execution, monitoring and quality maintenance. The department of tourism has been executing 580 crore tourism infrastructure project in the state under which various sub projects were under execution at almost all the important tourist destinations in the state. The spokesman said the project will go a long way in improving the overall tourist facilities within the state and attract larger number of tourists to Himachal Pradesh.
Prior to this, Leonardus Boenawan Sondjaja, Deputy Country Director, Asian Development Bank and the Project Office (Urban), ADB Vivek Vishan, in their recent visit to Simla had showed their satisfaction on the overall performance of the project.
